There is some great advice in here. I'm currently on a mission to do just that: widen my range. I find that my writing for Medium is impacting my music and design. It forces me to consider other perspectives.

Sitting in silence is hard, but I agree. I need to get better at that. Right now I turn off the radio in the car on my way to teach as a way to prepare and reset myself. But that's really not enough.
