I was definitely guilty of stereotyping autistic people until I had a family member and subsequently myself diagnosed. That was an eye-opening experience and while I continue to learn more about it, I see now that the scope of the spectrum is vast. We each occupy our own little spot on it and while we might have overlapping traits, we are each uniquely autistic. Thanks for the article!
